Capture to request to task
Sequence diagram. The text on this page has the exact steps and permissions.
What you'll do
Northstar emails at 09:12: "We need rollback guidance before the 3 PM steering call. The appointment-confirmation flow is blocked." You'll capture that as a request, triage it, and turn it into a task with an owner and a due time. It takes about five minutes.
Steps
-
1
Open External Inbox and find the Northstar email. If you don't have email connected, open Requests and create the request by hand, pasting the email text.
-
2
Choose Capture request. Check that the client is Northstar Health Labs and link the Patient portal launch project.
-
3
Open the new request and choose Run Triage. AI suggests an urgency, a summary, and fields.
-
4
Review the saved recommendation and choose Apply Triage to apply it, then edit the request if needed. If you prefer your own values, skip Apply Triage and edit the request manually.
-
5
Choose Convert To Task. Name it "Close rollback-checklist ownership gaps", assign it to yourself, set high priority, and make it due at 2 PM today.
Checkpoint
What you should see
- The request shows high urgency, the launch project, and a link to the new task.
- The task shows the client, project, priority, due time, and a link back to the request.
- Anyone who opens the task can see the original email without asking where it came from.
Note
No AI access?
Skip Run Triage and set the urgency and project yourself. Everything else works the same.
FAQ
Can one request turn into several tasks?
Yes. Convert the same request more than once, for example one task for the checklist and one for the client reply.
What if the ask is already clear?
You can skip triage and convert straight away, or create the task directly and link the client and project.
