# Task reviews and work logs

## Overview

Tasks hold execution detail beyond status. The board shows flow across statuses, work logs record what was done, history shows who changed what, and reviews and retrospectives summarize the work.

## Task board

Switch the Tasks page from List to Board to see columns for backlog, to do, in progress, and done. Drag a card between columns to change its status. The board respects your current filters and shows up to 50 tasks per column; narrow the filters when a column is truncated.

## Work logs

Use the Work log tab on a task to record what was done.

- Each entry has a summary, a time, and an optional duration.
- An entry with a duration also creates or updates a tracked time entry, so the work shows up in time tracking and invoice imports.
- An entry without a duration stays as untimed evidence.
- Older work logs with a duration but no tracked time are marked as needing time reconciliation and are excluded from invoice imports until reconciled.

## Example: Logging work so it's billable

On "Close rollback-checklist ownership gaps", you add a work log entry: "Confirmed owners for DB rollback, DNS, and comms", 45 minutes. Because it has a duration, Flopinio also records a 45-minute time entry on the task, so it shows up when you build Northstar's July invoice. A second entry, "Shared checklist with client", has no duration and stays as a record of what was done.

## History

The History tab is the task's audit trail: who changed what and when.

## AI task review

Run a review from a task to get a runtime-backed assessment of the task and its context. Reviews run through the same agent runtime as other AI workflows and appear in Agent Activity. They need a plan with AI access and either hosted AI credits or a valid, explicitly selected OpenAI or Anthropic key.

## Task retrospective

Generate a retrospective from the Retrospective tab to snapshot the task into a durable report for handoff and review.

- Completion state and tracked time.
- Work log entries and comments.
- Audit highlights from the task history.
- Each report records who generated it and when; earlier reports remain listed.

### Does a retrospective use AI?

No. A retrospective is a snapshot of the task's recorded data: work logs, tracked time, comments, and audit history.
