## Overview

Slack messages from the sources you choose arrive in External Inbox for review. Nothing becomes a request, note, or task until you capture it.

## Connect Slack

Connect Slack from integrations. Slack connections belong to the person who connects them; you cannot connect Slack on someone else's behalf.

## Choose Slack sources

Use Manage Slack sources on your Slack connection.

- DMs and group DMs are synced by default. Turn this off for channel-only coverage.
- Select the channels to scan. Archived channels cannot be selected.
- Only selected channels plus enabled DMs are scanned. With no sources selected, sync completes without scanning Slack history.

## Review in External Inbox

- Capture a Slack message as a request, note, task, or decision, or dismiss it.
- Select up to 25 items and run an AI batch review to summarize them. You get a notification when the summary is ready.
- Bulk-capture selected items as notes or requests.

## Example: Watching one client channel

You share a #northstar-launch channel with the client. Under **Manage Slack sources**, you select only that channel and turn off DMs. New messages there appear in External Inbox. When the client asks for a status update, you capture it as a request. The assistant drafts a reply, and it's posted from your Slack account once the approval is accepted.

## Replies

The assistant can draft a reply to a synced Slack thread. Sending it is approval-gated: the reply goes out through the personal Slack account that owns the thread only after the approval is accepted.

## FAQ

### Will Flopinio read every channel I belong to?

No. Only the channels you select, plus DMs and group DMs when that option is on.
