## One page per client

A client is the company you do work for. Everything else, including projects, requests, tasks, notes, time, and invoices, links to a client, so the client page is where you see the whole relationship.

## Add a client

1. Open **Clients** and choose **Add Client**.
2. Enter the company name and a working contact.
3. Add billing details you use, such as payment terms, rates, and billing notes.
4. Save. Then create a project for the client from **Projects → Add Project**.

## What the client page shows

- Company name and contact details
- Default billing context, such as terms, rates, and notes
- Active projects and linked requests
- Invoice history, outstanding balance, overdue invoices, and reminders
- Tracked [expenses](https://flopinio.com/help/expenses) for the client

## Example: Answering "where are we with Northstar?"

Open Northstar Health Labs. The page shows one active project (Patient portal launch), two open requests, 16.5 unbilled hours, and a June invoice that's paid. You can answer the client's question, or start the July invoice, without leaving the page. To log a new ask from Northstar, choose **Capture request** on the client page.

## Client portal

You can give a client a login to a project-only portal where they see progress you choose to publish, comment on tasks, and sign off decisions. Invoices, time entries, files, and requests are never shown there. See [Client portal](https://flopinio.com/help/client-portal).

## FAQ

### Should I create one client per company or per contact?

One per company. Keep the people as contacts on that client so all their work and invoices stay together.

### Can I try clients without real data?

Yes. The demo workspace includes Acme Research Ltd. as a sandbox client you can edit, then convert or discard.
